2004 Griffin 44

Alexander Marine are pleased to have SOLD this Griffin 44.

If you were in the market for a timeless head turning vessel then you could look no further. She was from the drawing board of Murray Burns and Dovell who also designed the popular Palm Beach Motor Yachts range. 'Heidi-Jane' was a beautifully constructed fibreglass masterpiece with magnificent hand crafted timber finishes and features.

Modern composites made her super light weight and brought her into the twenty first century, but her looks were very much traditional. Combined these attributes with a semi displacement hull shape, knife like entry and you had a hull that sliced through the ocean effortlessly and economically with the power of just a single 420HP Yanmar diesel engine. 

She was equipped with a Side-Power bow thruster for manoeuvrability. Minimalist was the best way to describe her look, which in many ways was a bonus as maintenance was reduced. Two pack exterior paint plus covers for all of the exposed varnished teak ensured longevity. Large laminated glass windows provided excellent vision from the interior so you didn't feel at all claustrophobic. 

The rear deck and saloon were on one level from the helm to the transom - just one continuous walk through. Her low profile added to stability, but more importantly, enabled her to get under the low bridges, therefore opened up another world of berthing options and boating destinations. 

Where many boat designers would jam three cabins into a hull of this length, her designers Murray Burns and Dovell decided on two substantial cabins and one large shared bathroom. For those with an eye for detail you would find an immaculate bilge with top quality engineering, plumbing, engine mounts, sea strainers and skin fittings with no expense spared in these important areas of the build.
